Jack Johnson makes a splash with album supporting eco-education

Jack Johnson releases album supporting Hawaii eco charity…

Hawaii born folk hero Jack Johnson is releasing the album Jack Johnson and Friends - Best of Kokua Festival on April 17.

The album is a benefit for the charity Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit supporting environmental education in Hawaii schools and communities.

The environment and peace loving Johnson is also releasing the album in time for Earth Day, which is celebrated on April 22, and promotes grass-roots environmental activism.

The charity recording features 13 live performances from Jack Johnson's eco-music festival in Hawaii over the last six years with Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Ben Harper, Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews, Ziggy Marley, Damian Marley and others.

All the profits benefit the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.

The track-list includes Better Together, Jack Johnson with Paula Fuga; Cry Cry Cry, Ziggy Marley with Jack Johnson and Paula Fuga; Take It Easy, Jackson Browne with Jack Johnson and John Cruz; and Further On Down the Road, Taj Mahal with Jack Johnson…

The album is a compilation of live performances over the years from Johnson's Kokua Festival benefit concerts for the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.
